A lovely hotel with comfy beds and great food! The boat trip was cancelled, which was disappointing, but the overall experience was still positive.

Rooms
7.0
The room was nice, but it lacked a safe. The bed was really comfy though!
Service
6.0
The breakfast host was great, but the reception staff could use some customer service training. Issues with the phone and lack of soap were not ideal.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was excellent; only a short walk into Chester.
Dining
9.0
The breakfast was very good.
Facilities

The spa's ladies changing room was out of order, which was a bummer.

My wife and I had a nice stay, the location was great for exploring Chester's Christmas markets, and the breakfast was delicious. However, there were a few maintenance issues in our room that weren't addressed.

Rooms
6.0
Our room was clean and spacious, but there wasn't a safe, and the bathroom lacked storage for toiletries. A couple of lights were also out, and the bathroom fan was noisy, which wasn't fixed despite reporting it.
Service
6.0
Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, but our maintenance requests weren't addressed during our stay.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was perfect, very central and close to the Christmas markets, and there was plenty of parking.
Dining

The breakfast was very good.
Facilities

The bar and reception area were new and always clean.

The hotel's location is its best feature; it's close to everything. The spa needs updating, and the restaurant could use some modernization. While the service wasn't always perfect, we had a nice stay overall.

Rooms
6.0
The room was basic but clean. The shower was just okay, and the pillows and mattress weren't the most comfortable, but we slept okay. There were also minimal toiletries.
Service
6.0
Some staff were friendly and helpful, especially at check-in and the bar. However, the service at the restaurant and breakfast bar was slow and could have been improved.
Location
9.0
The hotel is very conveniently located, close to the city center.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast was mediocre, with a poor selection and slow service. The restaurant's decor and menu were dated.
Facilities
6.0
The spa needs refurbishment; it's dated, and some tiles were missing. The parking is also somewhat problematic.

The hotel is in a great spot, the pool and gym are lovely, and the staff are generally friendly. The breakfast is plentiful, and the pub is great, but my room was disappointingly small.

Rooms
6.0
Room 341 (and likely others on that floor) was ridiculously small, even for one person, and the bathroom was tiny. There was minimal storage. Other rooms seemed fine, though.
Service

The staff were friendly and helpful overall, but my request for an upgrade wasn't met.
